1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, registering for, or using Cmb Appliance Guard ("the Service", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service. Continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Service Description
Cmb Appliance Guard is an online Appliance Care Membership platform operated by CMB Appliance Repairs. The platform provides appliance and electrical repair membership plans for household appliances and electrical systems and is available to eligible members of the public.

Not Insurance: Cmb Appliance Guard is an Appliance Care Membership and repair service. It is not an insurance product and is not regulated under the Insurance Act or by the Prudential Authority. Membership provides access to repair services for registered appliances and electrical items subject to the terms, limits, waiting periods and conditions contained in these Terms & Conditions. No indemnity or risk cover is provided.

5. Payment Terms
- All payments are processed securely through our payment provider (Paystack).
- By subscribing, you authorise us to store your payment authorisation code and to automatically charge your selected payment method on each billing date for the applicable amount.
- Your membership is activated after successful payment of the applicable membership fee. Once activated, qualifying repair requests may be submitted in accordance with the waiting periods, service limits and other conditions set out in these Terms & Conditions.
- Qualifying repair requests are assessed, approved and arranged by CMB Appliance Guard, and are carried out by our network of qualified and vetted technicians.
- All payments for approved repairs are handled by CMB Appliance Guard as part of your membership benefits, subject to the applicable service limits and terms of your plan.
- Recurring payments are processed automatically on or shortly after your next billing date.
- You may update your payment method at any time via your membership dashboard. Updated payment details will be used for all future charges.
- It is your responsibility to ensure your payment method remains valid and has sufficient funds.
6. Waiting Periods
- Initial waiting period: A 60-day waiting period applies from the date your membership is activated for both Standard and Pro plans. Your membership becomes active immediately upon successful payment, but repair requests may only be submitted after the waiting period has elapsed.
- Post-repair-request waiting period: After a repair request has been made on a registered item, a new waiting period applies to that item from the date of the repair request. Pro Plan members have a 60-day waiting period, while Standard Plan members have a 90-day waiting period. Only one repair request may be submitted per registered appliance within each waiting period.
- Payment-related timer reset: If your subscription enters a past-due state and payment is not updated within the 21-day grace period (see Section 11), your repair request waiting period resets. A 60-day waiting period applies from the reset date for both plans. The countdown only begins once payment is successfully updated.
7. Membership Terms
- Membership activation begins after your plan's waiting period from the date of first successful payment. Your membership is active immediately upon payment, but repair requests are only available once the waiting period has elapsed.
- Service applies only to the specific appliances and electrical items listed in your membership group, at the registered location.
- Membership is non-transferable between appliances, locations, or users.
- All registered items must be in good working order at the time of registration. Pre-existing faults are not eligible for service.
- We reserve the right to inspect any registered item before approving a repair request.
- One repair request may be submitted per registered appliance within the applicable waiting period — 60 days after the last repair request for Pro Plan members, and 90 days for Standard Plan members.
- All approved repairs include diagnosis, labour, and eligible parts replacement at no additional cost to you, subject to the limits of your plan.
- Completed repairs carry a 3-month warranty for both Standard and Pro Plan members, covering the workmanship and parts fitted as part of the repair.
- You are required to upload clear photos of each appliance at registration for verification purposes. Additional photos or videos may be requested during the repair request process to assist with assessment.
- Faults must arise from normal domestic usage. Damage from misuse, neglect, unauthorised repairs, power surges, or acts of God is not eligible for service.
- If your appliance is beyond economical repair or essential parts are discontinued and cannot be found anywhere, we will let you know. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to source a brand-new replacement appliance through our supplier network at a discounted price of up to 50% off the recommended retail price, subject to supplier availability, stock, and pricing at the time. This benefit is available to Pro members only.

- Repair requests must be reported before any repair is done.
- All repair requests must be approved by CMB Appliance Guard.
10. Annual Service Limits
Each registered appliance includes an Annual Service Limit based on the appliance category and the selected membership plan.
The Annual Service Limit is the maximum amount CMB Appliance Guard will contribute towards approved repairs, including eligible parts and labour, during a single membership year.
The Annual Service Limit applies per registered appliance, not per customer or per membership.
The Annual Service Limit resets every 12 months, provided the membership remains active and all membership fees remain up to date.
Every approved repair reduces the remaining Annual Service Limit available for that appliance.
If the cost of an approved repair exceeds the remaining Annual Service Limit, the member will be responsible for paying the difference before the repair can be completed.
Once the Annual Service Limit has been exhausted, no further repair costs will be paid for that appliance until the Annual Service Limit resets.
The Annual Service Limit does not increase if additional claims are declined or if no claims are submitted during the membership year.
Annual Service Limits are subject to all other waiting periods, exclusions, repair frequency rules and Terms & Conditions of the selected membership plan.
Annual Service Limit Schedule
Every registered appliance includes an Annual Service Limit. This is the maximum amount CMB Appliance Guard contributes towards approved repairs, including eligible parts and labour, during one membership year. After every approved repair, the remaining Annual Service Limit is reduced by the repair cost. The available benefit automatically resets every 12 months while your membership remains active.
The Annual Service Limit varies by monthly price tier and plan type (Standard or Pro). For a complete breakdown of pricing tiers and their corresponding Annual Service Limits, please visit our What's Included page.
Electrical Care is available only as a Standard plan and includes its own pricing structure based on property size — see our What's Included page for full details.
Additional Conditions
- Annual Service Limits are not transferable between appliances.
- Unused Annual Service Limits do not roll over to the next membership year.
- Annual Service Limits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash or account credit.
- CMB Appliance Guard reserves the right to inspect and assess every appliance before approving any repair.
- Repairs remain subject to all existing exclusions, waiting periods and membership conditions contained in these Terms & Conditions.
- Approved repair requests will be carried out by our qualified technicians, up to the service limit of your membership plan. Any repair costs exceeding the service limit will be the member's responsibility.
11. Electrical Service
Electrical wiring and rewiring service is available as part of your membership. Service applies to the electrical installation within the home, including wiring, switches, sockets, and circuit breakers, subject to the terms of your plan. Whole-house rewiring or complete electrical system upgrades are not eligible for this benefit and will be the responsibility of the member.
What's Included in Electrical Care
Electrical Care includes the following eligible repairs and services:
- Electrical wiring faults
- Plug sockets and outlets
- Light switches
- Light fittings
- Distribution Board (DB) faults
- Circuit breakers
- Earth leakage faults
- Qualified electrician labour
- Eligible replacement electrical parts
Electrical Care is available as a Standard plan only and does not include a Pro option. Pricing is based on property size — see our What's Included page for current pricing.
12. Payment Failures & Grace Period
- If a recurring payment fails, we will automatically retry the charge daily for up to 7 attempts.
- After 7 consecutive failed attempts, your membership status will be set to past due and no further automatic charges will be attempted.
- A 21-day grace period begins from the date of the first failed payment. During this period, repair requests are not available, but you can update your payment method to restore your membership and preserve your existing repair request timer.
- If you are experiencing financial difficulty or card-related issues, you may request to pause your membership for up to 60 days. During this time, no payments will be attempted and your membership will remain inactive. Your repair request timer will be preserved and will resume once membership is reactivated. To request a pause, please contact our support team.
- If payment is not updated within the 21-day grace period, your repair request waiting period will be reset. A 60-day waiting period applies from the reset date for both plans.
- During the reset period, the repair request timer will display as zero — no countdown is shown until payment is successfully updated. Once payment is restored, the waiting period countdown begins from the reset date.
- If payments remain unpaid beyond the grace period and reset, your membership may be moved to inactive or cancelled status, after which renewal requires reactivation.
- You will receive email notifications for each failed payment attempt and when your grace period is approaching expiry.
13. Repair Request Process
Each repair request is assessed by CMB Appliance Guard based on a number of factors, including:
- Your membership status (active and in good standing);
- Applicable waiting periods (see Section 6 — Waiting Periods);
- Eligibility requirements, including that the appliance or electrical item is registered under an active membership and was in good working order at the time of registration;
- Applicable service limits (see Section 10 — Annual Service Limits);
- The terms, conditions, waiting periods and exclusions set out in these Terms & Conditions and your specific plan.
The repair request process is as follows:
- Repair requests may only be submitted once all applicable waiting periods have elapsed and your membership status is active.
- Submit a repair request by selecting the affected appliance on your membership dashboard and following the repair request process, or via our WhatsApp channel.
- Provide a full description of the issue, including supporting photos or videos where possible.
- Our team will assess the repair request against the criteria listed above and may arrange for an inspection by one of our network service providers.
- You will be notified whether the repair request has been approved, declined, or if further information is required.
- Approved repair requests will be performed by our qualified technicians, subject to the service limits of your membership plan.
- If a registered item cannot be repaired because it is beyond economical repair or parts are discontinued and cannot be found, we will make reasonable efforts to source a brand-new replacement appliance through our supplier network at a discounted price of up to 50% off the recommended retail price, subject to supplier availability, stock, and pricing at the time.
- Repair requests are subject to the terms, limits, and exclusions defined in your specific plan.
14. When Repairs Aren't Possible
At Cmb Appliance Guard, our first priority is always to repair your appliance. Our network of qualified technicians will do everything possible to get your appliance working again using quality parts.
However, sometimes a repair just isn't possible — for example, if the appliance is beyond economical repair, or if the needed parts are discontinued and simply cannot be found anywhere. If that happens, we will make reasonable efforts to source a brand-new replacement appliance through our supplier network at a discounted price of up to 50% off the recommended retail price, subject to supplier availability, stock, and pricing at the time.
This benefit is available to Pro members only. There are no complicated qualifying periods — we're here to help when you need it most.
15. Pre-Expiry Renewal Notices
We will send you a renewal reminder email approximately 7 days before your next billing date. This notice will include a summary of your upcoming renewal, the amount to be charged, and a link to update your payment method if needed. It is your responsibility to ensure your contact details are up to date.
16. Cancellation
- You may cancel your membership at any time through your profile or membership settings. There are no long-term contracts and no cancellation penalties.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period (monthly or annual).
- No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. You will continue to have access to membership benefits and repair requests until the end of the paid period.
- If your membership is cancelled due to non-payment, you may reactivate it by updating your payment method. Reactivation restores your membership with the existing waiting period status (including any resets that may have occurred).
- We reserve the right to cancel or suspend membership for fraudulent activity, misrepresentation, or violation of these terms.
17. Limitation of Liability
Cmb Appliance Guard's total liability is limited to the cost of repair of registered items as outlined in your plan, or the total amount of membership fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the repair request, whichever is less. We are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of use, loss of contents, or loss of food stored in registered appliances
- Business or commercial use of registered items
- Damage arising from failure to maintain the registered item in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
18. Privacy
We collect and process your personal information (including name, email address, phone number, and payment details) in order to provide the Service. Your data is stored securely and is never shared with third parties except as necessary to process payments (via Paystack) or to fulfil repair requests (via our service providers). By using the Service, you consent to this processing. You may request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.
19. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to you via email or through the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
20. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
